| Sharp Launches “From Bigger To Biggest” Products |

Kuala Lumpur: Sharp-Roxy Sales & Service Company (M) Sdn. Bhd. today launched the “From Bigger To Biggest” products. The products were the AQUOS 80-inch LED TV and the Double-French refrigerator dubbed as ‘Avance’.
The company emphasized the term ‘From Bigger To Biggest’, where now justified Sharp as the only one having the biggest panel of 80-inch in the market. In relation with the big-size, Sharp introduced the Avance as the addition of the Sharp Double-French refrigerators line-ups that are not only big in size but also big in functions and specifications.
The launch was held at a leading hotel attended by Managing Director Mr. Hiroyuki Nuizato, General Manager of CEP Sales Mr. Tok Sang Man, Assistant General Manager of CEP Marketing/Advisor Mr. Takaya Wakasumi and General Manager of CEP/ISP Marketing Mr. Lau Siong Giap.
“This year, our company direction is towards the bigger size products. We want to firmly establishing the perception in the market and consumer mindset of “Larger size in white and brown goods means Sharp”, said Mr. Nuizato.
Producing bigger size panels for AQUOS effectively and economically can be materialized by Sharp, as it is made by the world renowned Sharp Green Front Sakai, which is the only plant in the industry that fabricates the 10th generation mother glass substrates.
The AQUOS 80-inch model LC80LE940X was produced in Full HD Japan-made panel that equipped with Sharp’s renowned Quattron 4-primary colour technology. The model also comes with 3D and AQUOS Net allowing for internet connectivity for online experience.
The Avance Double-French refrigerator was built-in with unique physical and technical features equipped with Sharp renowned Plasmacluster Ion technology keeping food fresh, energy saving function and the Ag+ Nano deodorizer that eliminates unpleasant odors.
The AQUOS LC80LE940X comes with a price tag of RM28,999.00, while the Avance Series comes with 4 type of models that ranges from RM4,999.00 to RM7,499.00.
From the economic point of view, the LCD TV market share for this year forecasted demand is around 1.6mil units. With this figure, Sharp is aiming to capture 14.5% from the total market share.
“The demand is expected to be increased due to the rapid advancement and market trend changes, which are involving some factors such as demand for high-end specs LCD TVs, rapid technology upgrades and competitive pricing,” said Mr. Nuizato.
The current trend now moves towards the smart TVs and big-size panels. For Sharp, the brand are moving towards 60-inch and above big-size panels.
On the refrigerator market, this year the total demand was expected to be 590,000 units. From the forecasted figure, Sharp is eyeing to capture 24.4% of the market share.
“With the existing and new line-ups of Sharp refrigerators, we believed in capturing the market share. This will be backed by the advance technical specifications of Sharp refrigerators such as the Plasmacluster Ion technology, energy saving functions and unique physical design, just to mention a few,” said Mr. Nuizato.
On the other hand, Sharp is celebrating its 100 years anniversary this year, where the brand was established on 15 September 1912.
On 7 June, Sharp announced the 100 days countdown towards the 15 September. With the countdown, Sharp embarked the ‘My Sharp Our Future’ campaign, launched the 80-inch AQUOS Board and presented grand prizes to the EURO Consumer Contest winners, where Sharp is the Official Partner of EURO Cup 2012.
The launch of both AQUOS 80-inch and Avance Double-French refrigerators also was in-line with the brand centennial anniversary.
“It is a great honor for us to be part of the company that survived to celebrate its centennial anniversary, and today’s event is also part of the 100 days countdown towards the 100 years anniversary,” said Mr. Nuizato.
