| Acer Malaysia Completes The Mobile Experience With the Launch of Four Smarphones |

Kuala Lumpur, 28 July 2010 – Imagine moving from accessing web content in your Acer smartphone, to creating content on the go with your Acer Netbook and then on to editing multimedia files with your Acer Notebook - seamlessly and with peace of mind. That is the Acer experience that consumers can now look forward to, with the launch of Acer’s latest range of android-powered smartphones!
Acer Sales & Services Sdn Bhd today launched four new best in class smartphones at a stylish rooftop café in the heart of the city. Where sophisticated styling meets innovative technology, the four Acer smartphones introduced were the special edition Acer Liquid E Ferrari, Acer Liquid E S100, Acer beTouch E400 and Acer beTouch E120.
With this launch, Acer Malaysia now offers a complete range of mobile products – smartphones, netbooks and notebooks; to meet the diverse usage needs of consumers, from simple access to information and document via web all the way to the creation of complex content.
“The new range of Acer smartphones has been rolled out to meet the increasing consumer demands of wanting to access the Internet in style, at anytime and anywhere. Users look for mobile devices that use the easiest way to navigate while having the latest multimedia applications. The new range of Acer smartphones shouts versatility, performance and stylishness,” said Mr. Ricky Tan, the General Manager of Acer Sales and Services Sdn Bhd at the press briefing for the launch.
“We are pleased that with today’s launch, users can now experience complete mobility with Acer’s innovations in mobile devices from smartphones to netbooks and notebooks. This is in line with our global strategy of focusing on mobility devices that helps to simplify life,” added Tan.
Explaining the key features of the new range of Acer smartphone, Mr. Hawk Hu, Product Director, Smart Handheld Business Unit of Acer Taiwan Inc. said, “One fundamental need for mobile devices today is to meet growing demand of being able to access information and content via internet, email and social networks at their fingertips. This is a key aspect to the four new smartphones launched today which is targeted at every single level of phone users, from the basic user up to the ones who expect superior browsing experience with high speed Internet access.”
The Acer Liquid E series and Acer beTouch E400 are powered by the latest Android 2.1 operating system (Éclair) for a whole new level of interactivity and mobile freedom. It provides a wealth of community applications, as well as an exciting consumer experience for music and video. Powered by the efficient Qualcomm processor, these three models also provide an instant access to web page and quick response from popular mail, maps and search applications. Users can now conveniently and constantly stay in touch with friends and family via emails, instant messaging or any other social networks at all times.
Equipped with the 3.5” WVGA (Wide VGA) high-definition capacitive touch1 and wider screen, the new Acer smartphones also allows music and video lovers to enjoy the HD experience, either from the web or on the device. “In all the features thoughtfully put in, we seek to offer simplicity and improve user experience across all aspects such as ergonomics, user interface, applications and content. This can be seen in the four new models launched today – from attractive, trendy designs to the best of mobile technologies,” added Hawk.
One of the highlights of the day is the Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition. Created from a pure racing soul, the Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition combines powerful performance with design excellence.
This completely personalized smartphone offer sleek interface with fast and smooth navigation through menus and applications, which is in line with Ferrari’s racing spirit. Also, thanks to the 3D graphics accelerator of Qualcomm SnapdragonTM Processor, this model gives fantastic superior gaming experience to the user.
This model is benefiting from the collaboration of Ferrari and Acer. The device allow fans of the Rossa to have the trill of the Gran Permio always at their fingertips – from the Ferrari wallpaper, to stunning images and videos and a special set of ringtones. From the original concept to the finished product, the special edition smartphone was conceived with the idea of giving a stronger sense of belonging to all Ferrari fans.
Acer is currently sponsoring the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team.
The Acer beTouch E400 is available in three striking colours of black, white and red, the Acer Liquid E S100 in white and the Acer beTouch E120 in black.
